How to Change a Dyson V7 Battery
A Dyson V7 that fades after a few minutes needs a new battery, not a new vacuum. Three screws, no wiring, about ten minutes start to finish.

The V7 uses a screw-in pack in the handle. When it starts to age you will see run time collapse, longer charge times, or the machine cutting out the moment you switch to the high power setting. Replacing the pack is straightforward and needs one screwdriver.

All Dyson V7 and SV11 models with the screw-in battery, including V7 Animal, V7 Motorhead, V7 Absolute, V7 Trigger and V7 Car+Boat.
What you are replacing
The pack is secured by three screws — one at the back of the handle and two underneath the battery. Support the pack as you remove the last screw so it does not drop.

Step-by-step instructions
Remove the old battery
Unscrew the 3 battery screws — one at the back of the handle and two underneath the battery. Support the battery with your free hand and pull it straight down and away from the handle.
Install the new battery
Slide the new battery up into the handle until the contacts meet. Put all 3 screws back and tighten gently. Fully charge the battery before first use.
